Since September 11, 2001, our Nation has been focused, appropriately, on the heroism displayed by First Responders during the incident response to the tragedy at the World Trade Center in New York. However, this event revealed the lapses in command, control, communication, and coordination commonplace to many emergency incidents that, in this instance, directly affected the overall response to this event, resulting in loss of life.

Technologies exist that, had they been utilized, would have made a dramatic and positive difference in the overall preparation for, and response to, this event.
